The Hotel Santa Fe is the nation’s first Native American hotel not located on tribal property. Listed as one of Travel and Leisure’s “greatest hotels in the world,” Hotel Santa Fe offers “four-diamond” dining in the historic district of this artistic city. Mr. Yates bought most of a city block and set out to find the “right fit”. He formed a partnership with the Picuris Tribe and several prominent local businessmen. The Bureau of Indian Affairs financed the project. Today, the Picuris Tribe has majority ownership of the 165 room hotel.
